DREAM-Q: Target 2035 Quantum Challenge will evaluate quantum computing approaches in a real-data biomedical discovery setting. Participants develop quantum or hybrid quantum-classical methods to predict hits for the target protein PGK2 from MS-derived molecular data. Submissions must include a quantum component essential to the approach.

Starting September 2026, the challenge runs in two phases alongside the Target 2035 DEL-ML Challenge. Phase 1 is open to teams without quantum hardware. Top Phase 1 teams will be granted access to quantum resources for Phase 2, which requires approaches run exclusively on quantum hardware.

The aim of DREAM-Q is not only to assess predictive performance, but also to understand how quantum methods compare with one another when applied to a realistic biomedical hit-discovery problem using chemically diverse molecules and experimentally grounded labels.
